Fireplace with a view of the Pale di San Martino

We are at the foot of the Pale di San Martino, one of the mountain ranges in the Dolomites that have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009. Elegant and majestic, the Pale dominate the view from Malga Frattazza.

The Pale di San Martino, one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the Dolomites, are mountains of coral origin, dotted with spires, peaks, and ridges that turn pink at sunset. The geological history of the Pale began about 300 million years ago: in a calm, shallow sea, huge colonies of coral multiplied until they built reefs over a thousand meters high. After emerging, these coral reefs were shaped by atmospheric agents to form the sharp, jagged shapes that characterize the landscape today. The highest peaks exceed three thousand meters in height and form a wonderful circular crown.

With this unique view, Malga Frattazza has been reborn: a warm and contemporary setting where design dialogs with nature.

At the heart of the space stands the Piazzetta Dundee fireplace with the Panoramic M360Q firebox. A fireplace with a great visual impact, an example of a perfect combination of technological heart, refined design, tradition, and surround made of steel and Majolica in Ardesia finish.

A suspended central fireplace is the absolute protagonist: an aesthetic hood, in black steel, contains a functional hood that descends from the ceiling, with wooden beams, and encloses the fire in a circular firebox with 360° glass without metal profiles. At the base, a steel structure holds neatly stacked wood, which becomes a decorative element, reinforcing the authentic and convivial atmosphere.

The vertically sliding panoramic glass, which folds away completely into the base, is motor-driven with button controls.

And so the fire in the center of the room becomes the protagonist, bringing people together as in the past.

The interior architecture is dominated by exposed wood, which covers the ceilings and walls, creating a material continuity capable of transmitting visual and sensory warmth. The large windows open up the view to the outside landscape, letting in natural light and blurring the boundary between inside and outside.

The furniture combines essential lines and natural materials: Nordic-style tables and chairs are complemented by an industrial-style bar counter with textured surfaces and open shelving displaying bottles and objects, transforming functionality into visual impact. Every detail is designed to encourage socializing, in a refined balance between alpine hospitality and contemporary style.

The result is an elegant yet informal space, where fire, wood, and design come together to create an experience of sophisticated comfort, ideal for places dedicated to hospitality, relaxation, and conviviality.
